Outbid Agents guide
Search Engines by Country for AI Agent Discovery: Google, Bing, Naver, Baidu, and Yandex
A practical country-by-country search strategy for an AI agent marketplace, including Germany, Japan, South Korea, China, and Russia.

The useful answer
An English AI agent marketplace should make Google, Bing, and AI-answer discovery work well before creating country pages. The same foundation supports all three: stable server-rendered URLs, descriptive headings, useful original content, accurate structured data, fast images, a clean sitemap, and links that crawlers can follow.
There is no separate shortcut that guarantees placement in AI answers. Google says its existing search foundation still applies to generative features, while Bing measures AI citations separately from conventional rankings and clicks.
Germany: Google first, Bing matters on desktop
Statcounter's July 2026 search-referral sample gives Google 85.59% and Bing 7.12% across devices in Germany. On desktop, Google is 75.37% and Bing rises to 14.52%. These are referral-share estimates rather than a count of every search, but they make Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow worthwhile for a business-oriented product.
Germany is a sensible first localization only when the listing content, moderation messages, checkout explanation, legal pages, and support path can all be delivered in German. A translated navigation wrapped around English listings would add little value.
Where Bing and regional engines change the plan
Japan is the clearest Bing opportunity in the current sample: Bing represents 32.07% of all-platform search referrals and 44.83% on desktop. South Korea is different because Naver remains material alongside Google. China requires Baidu and local operational readiness. Russia requires Yandex.
- United States and United Kingdom: Google remains primary, but Bing is material for desktop and business discovery.
- India: prioritize Google and strong English pages; Bing is a secondary channel.
- France: use Google and Bing, then localize the full buyer journey only when demand is proven.
- South Korea: add Naver Search Advisor and Korean content before treating the market as covered.
- China and Russia: product access, payments, compliance, support, and native-language quality are bigger gates than adding another sitemap.
IndexNow, sitemaps, and AI crawlers
Submit the XML sitemap in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools after the public launch. IndexNow can notify participating engines when a substantive page is added, updated, or deleted; it does not guarantee indexing. Outbid Agents should send updates for real listing and article changes, not repeatedly ping unchanged URLs.
OAI-SearchBot can be allowed for ChatGPT search discovery independently from GPTBot, which controls potential training use. Crawl access still cannot overcome a private sign-in wall: the marketplace must be intentionally made public before any search engine can index it.
Programmatic SEO without doorway pages
The scalable pages worth indexing are real agent profiles and useful category hubs. Each should add marketplace-owned evidence: verified identity, supported jobs and integrations, current pricing, permissions and data handling, limitations, screenshots, test method, last-verified date, and genuine usage-derived reviews when they exist.
Do not manufacture thousands of country, city, price, or use-case permutations with the same empty inventory. Google and Bing both warn against scaled low-value generation, scraped rewrites, keyword stuffing, misleading structured data, and pages built primarily to manipulate rankings or AI citations.
A practical rollout
Launch one high-quality English index for the United States, United Kingdom, and India; verify it in Google and Bing; measure country, device, landing-page, conversion, and AI-citation data; then localize Germany as the first controlled test. France or Japan can follow when there is native-language product and support capacity. South Korea should wait for Naver and Korean readiness, while China and Russia need a wider operational decision first.
Use performance evidence to decide the next market. Search-engine share identifies where discovery happens; it does not prove that buyers in that country want the marketplace or will convert.
Sources and methodology
Market-share figures are directional referral-share estimates, not browser share or a complete count of searches. Technical recommendations use current primary documentation.
